Fall is my most favorite time of the year – slightly cooler weather, fairs and festivals serving delicious pumpkin and maple flavored treats, and the changing of leaves from green to vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges. If it were up to me, (and I know a lot of you will be happy that it is not), fall in New England would last all year!
I recently went on a road-trip to the Finger Lakes region of New York and saw such breathtaking views. It was early in the season, so the leaves on the trees were just beginning to change.

Now, a few weeks later, the Connecticut landscape is starting to show the colors of fall.

AND, if you were visiting CHS on Saturday, October 5, our family visitors were making colorful trees of their own! In celebration of the season and Family History Month, our monthly free family program, “Celebrating Family”, encouraged visitors to share their favorite stories and memories about family members and create their own family trees to bring home. Everyone who came had a great time, the creativity was amazing, and even our youngest visitors were talking the genealogy talk.
