Ron Tanner is a do-it-yourselfer, whether he’s fixing up his historic Baltimore row house or embarking on a book tour. We’re eagerly awaiting his arrival here at CHS in his camper van with his trusty sidekick, his Bassett hound Cleo.
Ron and Cleo have been criss-crossing the country, logging miles to promote From Animal House to Our House: A Love Story, the book that tells the story of how Ron fell in love with his girlfriend, Jill (who is now his wife) during the renovation that turned a run-down fraternity house into their dream home. The book is an inspiring read, according to Chris Jones of Esquire: “Ron Tanner’s life is a testament to the power of hard work, a big heart, blind romance, and even outright idiocy. What does he have to show for it? Only a beautiful house, a loving marriage, and now this inspiration of a book. Pass me my hammer!”
Ron’s visit is a perfect way to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month—we hope you’ll join us! Here are all the details:
